Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Resilience Therapy offers multi-day EMDR Intensives for clients who are ready to do deep work and want results that don’t take years to get there.

Rather than spreading trauma processing across months of weekly sessions, EMDR Intensives concentrate that work into days. Using bilateral stimulation (eye movements, tones, or tapping), EMDR helps the brain process what talk therapy often can’t reach: the stored emotional charge behind trauma, grief, assault, accidents, and chronic negative self-beliefs. Programs are led by EMDRIA Approved Consultant Ebony Crane.

Intensives are available virtually in Michigan, Texas, and Illinois, in person in Grand Rapids, MI, at our Muskegon retreat home, or at our Chicago, IL office — and available on-site at your location in the Chicago, IL  area and Houston, TX.

EMDR Intensive Therapy for Trauma & PTSD

When painful experiences continue to affect your daily life, relationships, or sense of safety, EMDR Intensive Therapy provides a focused, evidence-based approach to help you process and heal without the limitations of traditional weekly sessions. Whether you’re struggling with a single traumatic event, complex or childhood trauma, a PTSD diagnosis, grief and loss, sexual assault, abuse, military or first responder experiences, medical trauma, or the emotional impact of an accident or other distressing life event, an EMDR intensive is tailored to your unique history and goals.

Through extended therapy sessions, you’ll have the time and space to address the root causes of emotional distress, reduce overwhelming symptoms, and move toward lasting recovery with greater clarity, resilience, and confidence.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

DBT is a type of therapy that combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness practices. Individuals who suffer from high emotions, impulsivity, and self-destructive habits might benefit from DBT. DBT also focuses on developing a therapeutic relationship and validating their experiences. However, it’s important to note that many individuals have had negative experiences with therapy.

Therefore, they must find a culturally responsive therapist who understands their community’s unique experiences and needs. DBT can also benefit individuals diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder or other mental health conditions involving difficulties in emotion regulation.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a form of psychotherapy that emphasizes the connection between ideas, emotions, and behaviors. It is founded on the notion that unpleasant thoughts and feelings may lead to poor conduct and that individuals can alter their behavior by changing them.

CBT is an effective therapy for BIPOC individuals. It can help them identify and challenge negative thoughts and beliefs related to their experiences of discrimination or oppression. It can also help them develop coping strategies for stress and trauma.
